The TestMonitor Logo
By clicking the TestMonitor Logo you open your project dashboard. Read the article on the project dashboard to learn more about its features. When you have several projects in your TestMonitor environment, you can open the project dashboard by selecting a project in the header menu.
The TestMonitor menu
To the right of the TestMonitor logo, you find all seven menu-items of the primary TestMonitor menu: Define, Design, Plan, Run, Track, Resolve, and Report. When using these form left to right, these menu-items lead you through your testing process.
- Go to Define to define requirements and risks.
Requirements define the needs of the project’s stakeholders. Risks allow you to define project hazards which can be used to direct your testing effort.
- Select Design to design your test suite and test cases.
Test suites are used to group a set of similar test cases. Test cases help guide testers through a sequence of instructions to determine whether software meets the pre-defined requirements.
- Click Plan to plan a milestone and its test runs.
Milestones mark important test events in your project. A milestone contains one or more test runs, in which you can specify which test cases should be executed.
- To start running test, click Run.
Once test runs are planned, testers can start testing. Every tester has his or her personal overview of assigned test runs.
- In TestMonitor you can Track test results from the tests that are run.
You can use test results to track the progress and outcome of your test cases and test runs.
- Select Resolve to start managing your issues.
In TestMonitor you can create issues based on your test results. Issues created from test results can, for example, be filtered on their related risks and requirements.
- TestMonitor offers you several Reports.
Get an insight in the progress and outcome of your test project. For example, view the outcome of your tests for all requirements and risks.
You can perform a search throughout your project with Global Search in TestMonitor. Select the search field in the header, marked with the magnifying glass, and fill in your search term.
Results are categorised by item (requirements, risks, test suites, test cases, milestone, test runs, test results, and issues). Per item the first 15 results are shown. Select an item in the left search results menu to scroll to search results for that item.
