Organizations can be used to categorize groups of users by whatever means you see fit. Use the cog wheel in the header to open the Settings. At the left side, you’ll see a categorized list of configuration sections. The third section is Users & Roles. In the underlying section Organizations you can manage the organizations in your TestMonitor environment.
The organizations overview shows all the existing organizations, including their name, description, and the number of users.
The filter icon to the left allows you to filter on trashed organizations.
The cog button to the right enables you to edit what columns are shown in the organizations overview.
Add an Organization
You can add a new organization by selecting Add Organization on the top right of the organizations overview page.
A popup will appear allowing you to specify the organizations settings.
To specify a new organization you need to fill the following fields:
- Name (required)
A short, clear name of the organization. For example: a company name, a business unit or department identification.
A more descriptive identification of the organization.
Click Save to add the new organization or Cancel to go back to the organizations overview page.
Go to the organization detail page by either selecting the organization name or the 'arrow' button to the right of the organization.
Here you can access the following information:
The name of the organization.
- A more descriptive identification of the organization.
- An overview of the users that are linked to the organization.
All activities for each object in TestMonitor are logged. You can view these activities for the organization at the detail page.
Update an Organization
To edit an organization's details you can go to the organization detail page by either selecting the organization name or the 'arrow' button to the right of the organization. A pencil is shown when you move your cursor over the name and description. Select the field and you'll be able to edit the text. Click Save to save the changes you've made or Cancel to discard them.
It is not possible to update the list with linked users on the organization detail page. You can link users to an organization in the settings of the users.
Update Multiple Organizations
TestMonitor allows you to batch-edit organizations. In the organizations overview, move your cursor over an organization and tick the checkbox on the left. Select additional organizations or select them all by ticking the checkbox in the table header. Next, click on the green multi-select button in the toolbar and select a batch action.
The batch-edit function for organizations offers the following action:
Choose Delete and you can delete all the selected organizations at once.
Delete an Organization
You can delete an organization by opening its detail page and selecting the three dots … in the top right corner.
Select Delete and a confirmation box will be shown. Select Delete again to delete the organization.
Restore Trashed Organizations
Go to the organizations overview page and set the filter Trashed Organizations to display all trashed organizations. You can restore a trashed organization by selecting the 'restore' button at the right of the organization.
A confirmation box will be shown. Select Restore and the organization is available in your organizations overview again.
